JoAnne Crawford

Born August 13, 1925 in Nauvoo, IL to Harry and Margaret Rahn; she married Willian R. Crawford on May 17, 1947 in Peoria, IL and he preceded her in death on December 4, 1997 in East Peoria.

Also preceding in death were her son-in-law, Stephen Webber; her grand-son-in-law, Kevin Hoffman; 4 great grandchildren; 3 sisters and 4 brothers.

Surviving are her children, William (Marcia) Crawford, Michael (Mary) Crawford, Mary Webber and Thomas Crawford; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and her sister, Jerry Kay Foley.

JoAnne was a member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church in East Peoria and it’s Altar & Rosary Society for many years.

She met her husband while they both worked at Caterpillar Inc. and she returned to work there after her children were raised. In total, she gave 20 years of service to the company when she retired in 1986.

Her greatest joy was found within her family and she will be remembered for her constant smile and kindness to others which showed she was a woman of faith.

There will be a Funeral Mass for JoAnne at 11:00 am Monday, January 16, 2017 at St. Monica’s Catholic Church in East Peoria with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Father Stephen Willard will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in West Peoria.

Memorials are suggested to the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.
