Kathryn was born on August 1, 1943 in Peoria, IL to the late Ephraim L. and Mary R. (Schwarz) Davis. She married Chester Clayton Murrell on June 18, 1976. They were together until his passing on April 2, 2025.
Kathryn drove a bus for the City of Peoria for many years and eventually became a stay at home mom to take care of her children.
In her free time, she enjoyed crafting and making quilts for her children and grandchildren. She also loved watching lifetime true movies, Hallmark shows, and game shows, but the best part of her day was playing bingo and Yahtzee with her family and friends.
Kathryn is survived by her children, Kathryn Yvette (Mark) Catenacci, Angela (Matt) Heitert, Ronnie (Jenny) Ashley, Kathy (Heath) Miller, and Donna Murrell; her grandchildren, Gabriel (Mandy) Grimm, Tabytha (Justin) Fox, Taylor Catenacci, Jenna Ashley, Dustin Ashley, Jarod Clem, Joshua Clem, Justin Clem, Brandi (Paul) Burn, Michael Petrovics, Nelson (Kaylnn) Doty, Jeremy (Taylor) Doty, Johnathan Doty, and Jordan (Nathalie) Doty; 28 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 3 sisters; and 4 brothers.
She is preceded by her parents; her husband, Chester; her son, Ormal "JR" Ladd; 2 grandchildren; son-in-law, Monty Doty; and 4 brothers.
A Funeral Service in honor of Kathryn will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria, IL with a Visitation one hour prior. Committal will take place at Glendale Cemetery in Washington, IL.
