Kenneth Roberts

He was born on August 10, 1931 in Lincoln, IL to Paul and Mayme (Sams) Roberts. He married Barbara M. Hoey on September 19, 1954 in Peoria, IL. She preceded him in death on July 7, 2003 in Peoria. His parents and one brother Donald Roberts also preceded him in death.

Surviving are two daughters, Debbie (Eric) Nelson and Diane (Danny) Donald both of Creve Coeur, two grandchildren, Shawana Nolan and Jake Nelson both of Creve Coeur, three great-grandchildren and one brother, Harold (Billie) Roberts of Washington, IL.

Kenneth served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War before being honorably discharged. He started working in the Foundry in East Peoria for Caterpillar and later transferred to an office position in Morton, retiring in 1983. Kenneth was a member of the U.A.W. Local 974 and was volunteer firefighter with Creve Coeur Fire and Rescue.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 12, 2010 from 5 to 7 pm at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. A service will be on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Roberts Cemetery in Morton.
