Kim L. Schuck Cates

Kimberley L. Cates, 45, of East Peoria, Illinois passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012 at her residence. Kim was born August 17, 1967 in Peoria, Illinois to Leo and Karen Hagg Schuck, Sr. She married Christopher Cates on February 6, 2003 in the Bahamas and they were together nineteen years.

Surviving is her husband Chris Cates of East Peoria; daughter Lyndsey (Jeff Newport) Burdette of East Peoria; her parents Leo and Karen Schuck Sr. of Creve Coeur; sister Tonya (Roy A.) Mechling Sr. of Creve Coeur; three brothers, Leo H. Schuck Jr., Bryan M. Schuck and William A. Schuck all of Creve Coeur; one niece; and five nephews. Kim was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents and one nephew Jamie M. Stocker.

Kim was a care giver for the Department of Rehabilitation Services for over seven years. Kim was an avid animal lover and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. fan. She had a beautiful smile, a very giving heart that never turned anyone in need away. Kim was a member of Eastside Mennonite Church in East Peoria.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Remmert Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Weber will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
