Larry J. Helferich, Sr, age 56, of East Peoria, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017 at 3:08 p.m. at his son’s residence in Normal. He was born Jan. 24, 1960 in Peoria to Alvyn and Mildred (Harris) Helferich. They preceded him in death along with one brother and one sister. Survivors include one son, Larry (Kendra) Helferich, Jr of Normal, two daughters: Ashley (Jeff) Jackson of Bloomington, Rachel Helferich of East Peoria, five grandchildren, and nine brothers and sisters. Larry loved being outside, especially fishing with his brothers. Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria. Memorials may be made to the OSF Hospice in Bloomington or to the family.
