

Leroy Mack Sr., 96, of Peoria, IL, died peacefully in Galesburg, IL, with his wife of 42 years by his side. Leroy was born July 2, 1928, the son of Issac and Mary Mack. He married Winifred Mack, July 30, 1982.
Leroy was a Veteran who served in the United States Army for 5 years and fought in the Korean War. Leroy worked and retired from Caterpillar. While in retirement he worked for School District 150 as a cross guard.
Leroy is survived by his wife Winifred Mack, son, Leroy Mack Jr., his daughter, Sandra Davis, his stepson, Stanley Trent, his stepdaughter, Rosemary Williams and his grandkids, his great-grandkids, and his siblings, Geneva Mack, Margaret Allen, Sue (Ron) Givens, Austin Mack, Charles (Ester) Mack, Marvin (Gail) Mack, and Kenny Mack. Special thanks to his niece, Nina McCullum.
Leroy enjoyed hunting, gardening, cookouts, clothes, hats, cars, traveling, telling stories, having coffee at Dunkin Donuts and McDonalds and being surrounded by family.
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, Issac Mack and Mary Mack, and his siblings, Lula Mae Peete, Jannie McCullum, Oscar Mack, Lois Guyton, and his daughter Sherrie Allen.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Remmert Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 9:00 A.M. until service time. Interment will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.
