

She was born December 21, 1915 in Pipestone, Minnesota to Charles and Sybil (Price) Geitner. She married Charles Newlan in 1934 and he preceded her in death in 1962.
Her parents, one daughter, Sylvia Pippin, one granddaughter, Stephanie King, one son-in-law, Tom King, three brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death.
Surviving are her five children, Charlene Parnell of Carlsbad, NM; Lewis (Treva) Newlan of Foley, AL; Carol De La Cruz of Pontiac, IL, Jim (Paula) Newlan of Clinton, TN; Ed (Terry) Newlan of East Peoria and one son-in-law, Richard Von (Judy) Pippin of Brazil, IN. Also surviving is one brother, Charles Geitner of Fullerton, CA; 22 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Lorraine was a member of the East Peoria First United Methodist Church, where she belonged to the United Methodist Women’s Circle. She taught Sunday school for many years and enjoyed sewing, reading and traveling, including trips to Germany and Alaska.
A visitation will be Monday, February 20, 2012 from 5 to 7 pm at Remmert Funeral Home is East Peoria. A funeral will be at 10:30 am, Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at the Funeral Home. The Revs. Mary Arnold and Richard Von Pippin will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
