He was born to Byron and Louise (Hinton) Moore on June 18, 1930 in Peoria, IL. They preceded him in death.
Louis graduated from EPCHS in 1948 he was a proud graduate because his father Byron served the East Peoria community for over 41 years as a teacher, coach, principal, and superintendent. After high school Louis went on to own Lou Moore Construction as well as many other local small businesses in Estes Park, CO. After retirement in 1995 Louis and his wife Joyce decided to travel the country in an RV. The couple eventually ended back in their home town of East Peoria, IL in 2012. Louis was a big part of community service in Estes Park Colorado and served many proud years volunteering for the community as part of Jaycees, Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce and the Fire Department.
He married the love of his life Joyce Sparkman in East Peoria on January 25, 1954. She survives.
Louis is survived by his one daughter, Anita (Daren) Varga, two grandchildren Andrew (Jarrett Rivera) Pallissard, Briana (David) Havenar, one great granddaughter Ayla Lee Havenar. Also surviving is Kellie “Durango” Steele Street.
He is preceded in death by his one brother Ben Moore.
Louis will not only be known as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, fisherman, but also as a United States Air National Guard Veteran.
A memorial visitation will be held 1:00-3:00pm Monday August 13, 2018 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria.
