Mabel Ann Royer

Mabel Ann Royer, 89, of Peoria, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026. Mabel was born on February 28, 1937, in Salem, Illinois to Charles Fryer and Opel Bybee. She married Charles Royer Sr. on December 15, 1956.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Royer Sr., and her son, Charles Royer Jr.

Mabel is survived by her children, Richard Royer (Joyce Barthell), Corella Bair, and James Royer; her grandchildren, Charles Royer III, Catherine Floyd (August Schultz), Blade Bair and Benjamin Barthell, her great-grandchildren, Andre Floyd of Utah and Kayleigh Royer of Colorado.

Mabel retired from AT&T in December 1994 after many years of dedicated service as a switchboard operator with Illinois Bell. She enjoyed reading, working puzzles, spending time watching Chicago Cubs baseball, and NASCAR races.

Above all else, Mabel loved her children and family more than anything. She will be remembered for her strength, devotion, and the steady presence she brought to those who loved her. Her memory will live on through the family she cherished so much.

Visitation will be held at Remmert Funeral Home, 521 East Washington Street, East Peoria, IL on May 19, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at Remmert Funeral Home from 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm. Graveside services will take place at Fondulac Cemetery, 143 Arnold Rd, East Peoria, IL on May 19, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
