Roanoke - Minnie Louise Priller (Babe) Lawrence, 96, of Roanoke, IL passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015. She was the beloved mother of Michael Lawrence of Las Vegas, NV and grandmother of Melissa Stringer Lawrence of South Elgin, IL. as well as a great-grandmother of 2 boys and 1 girl. She is also survived by her sister Virginia of Roanoke IL.
Born and raised in Roanoke, IL on August 11, 1919 to Henry and Blanche (Fauber) Priller she was the salutatorian of her high school graduating class at Roanoke Benson High School in 1937. She was married to George Lawrence a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy on December 15, 1944 until his death on Sept. 4, 2000.
A devoted mother and housewife she also participated in early computer programming projects in Peoria, IL and attended nearly every Bradley University basketball game for 50 years. Like her husband she was a rabid fan of the Chicago Cubs as well. She was also noted as an accomplished seamstress.
