

She was born Jan. 7, 1937 in Corbin, KY to Harve and Pearl (Wilson) Longworth. She married Arnold L. “Homer” Chadwick in Harlan, KY on May 22, 1957. He preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Kenneth. Surviving are 4 children, Vickie (Doug) Maxwell, Connie (James) Bader, Jeffrey Chadwick, James (Julie) Chadwick all of East Peoria; 8 grandchildren, James D. (Bobbi Jo) Chadwick, Kristina (Luke) Howell, Jennifer (David) Chadwick, April (Josh) McIntyre, Amber (Patrick) Dean, Ashley Goyer, Brian Maxwell, Jason (Stephanie) Kennay; 7 great-grandchildren, Alexandria and Michael Dean, Connor and Katelyn McIntyre, Emma Howell, Kate and Cameron Kennay; sister, Lela Golden; and 3 brothers, Hershel (Irene), Clarence (Mandy) and Ronnie (Linda) Longworth.
Muriel was a homemaker who enjoyed opening up her home to her children’s friends and spending time with them growing up. She was an avid Cubs fan, was a former volunteer for MDA for many years, and attended Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in East Peoria. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2013 at Glad Tidings Assembly of God in East Peoria with Rev. Fred Doughty officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria, with further visitation one hour before services at the Church on Monday.
