

She was born on September 2, 1937 in Watseka, the daughter of Elmer and Vera (Freidinger) Yergler. She was the oldest of four siblings. On April 10, 1960 she married Ed Herrmann, who survives.
Myra graduated from Cissna Park High School in 1955. Following graduation, she worked at several businesses in Watseka and then worked in Normal. From there she worked a few jobs in East Peoria, then at Robein Grade School as a bookkeeper, and then a receptionist at Fondulac Banking Center. Myra did volunteer work at Methodist Hospital in Peoria and served at church with Pioneer Girls and Vacation Bible School. She attended Grace Bible Church in Washington until 1984 and then became a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria.
She is survived by her husband, Ed, sister Sandy (Ralph) Bauer of East Peoria, daughter Lisa (Doug) Watson of Pontiac, and son Tom (Laura) Herrmann of Morton. Myra has seven grandchildren;
Bethany Newsome, Christopher (Emily) Newsome, Troy Watson, Rachel Watson, Eric Watson, Matt (Rachel) Herrmann, and Heidi Herrmann. She also has seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Vera, brother Dean, and sister Barb.

Myra's funeral service will be at 11:00 am Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria, with visitation from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Rev. John Hopwood will officiate. Burial will take place in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lutheran Hillside Village or Grace Presbyterian Church.
