

She was born May 14, 1940 in Harlan County, KY to Rufus and Olan (Thomas) Lisanby, Sr. She married the love of her life, Lloyd Schellenberg on July 25, 1959 in Peoria. He passed away October 18, 1985 in Peoria. She is also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Rufus “RA” Lisanby, Jr. and one brother-in-law, Orville Sauder.
Survivors include three children: Rebecca (David) Houseworth of Washington, Timothy Schellenberg of East Peoria, Joy (Joe) Cook of Cary, N.C., seven grandchildren: Scott, Samantha (Brock), Benjamin, Tristan, Faith (Eric, Sr) Mason, and Autumn. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren: Luna, Eric, Jr, Rio, three sisters: Betty Sauder, Sara (Mike) Summers, Sheila (David) Ducommon, one sister-in-law, Janine, one brother-in-law, Mark (Frieda) Schellenberg, and numerous nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
Nancy was a CNA for almost 40 years in Peoria.
She enjoyed a good cup of coffee, listening to old time gospel music, finding new books to read, and working on word find puzzles. Nancy loved family time and her family was the light of her life. She loved the Lord and it showed by her passion and the way she served Him. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be Friday, January 31, 2025 at 2 p.m. at the Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.
Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Northern Tazewell Fire Department or the American Heart Association.
