Rebecca "Becky" R. Marroquin

Rebecca R. "Becky" Marroquin, 89, of East Peoria, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at her home. She was born on May 22, 1935 in Dixon, a daughter of Joseph Garcia and Barbara (Steanz) Garcia. Becky married Charles "Chuck" Marroquin. He preceded her in death on July 1, 1981 in East Peoria.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Anthony Garcia and Salvador Garcia; four sisters, Angelina Esparza, Rose Ferguson, Victoria Troxell, and Gloria Garcia.

Becky is survived by her two sisters, Connie (Larry) Cervantes of Sterling and Rachel (Stan) Bance of Rock Island; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She last worked in the cafeteria at East Peoria Community High School.

She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton.

Becky had tremendous faith and loved serving her church. She had endless energy which showed in her manicured yard. She loved thrift shopping, watching the moon and stars, taking bus trips, and eating out with friends.

Becky's funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Rev. Fr. Nicholas Conner will officiate. Her visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am also on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Fondulac Township Cemetery in East Peoria.
