Richard L. Dixon

Born March 30, 1927 in Saline County, IL to Roscoe and Bessie (Cummins) Dixon. He married Anna M. Clanin in Virginia, IL. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his parents; 5 brothers; and 5 sisters.

Surviving are 4 daughters, Regina A. Dixon, Jennifer L. (Ron) Buchanan, Alaina K. Dixon, Tia M. Burger; 4 grandchildren, Miranda K. Parris, Kerestin A. (Chris) Mullins, Tiffany A. Buchanan, Stephanie M. Burger; and 1 great granddaughter, Alexis R. Mullins.

Richard worked at Caterpillar Inc. as a machinist, retiring in 1982. He was a US Navy WWII Veteran and a member of VFW Post #15014.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 10, 2010 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Visitation will be one hour before services at the funeral home. Burial will be at Springdale Cemetery in Peoria.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Multiple Sclerosis, or the Alzheimer’s Association Peoria Chapter.
