Robert E. Duede

Groveland – Robert E. Duede, 84, of Groveland, IL passed away Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Unity Point Methodist Hospital. He was born February 1, 1932 in Des Moines, IA to Arthur and Helen Duede. Robert married Patricia Hammer on August 12, 1967 in Oklahoma City, OK.

Surviving are: his wife Patricia Duede of Groveland, IL, their children; Bob (Lisa) Duede of Urbandale, IA, Dave Duede of Des Moines, IA, Bill (Kay) Chambers of Bartonville, IL, Rhonda (Kari Milam) Duede of East Peoria, IL, and Troy (Angie) Duede of Dunlap, IL, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and his three brothers; Wayne (Ruth) Duede of Cedar Rapids, IA, Jim (Jenny) Duede of Ankeny, IA, and Don (Vicky) Duede of Altoona, IA.

Robert was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp serving during the Korean War. Following his service to our country, Robert thrived in the home improvement industry as a business owner and salesman for many years, a profession he dearly loved.

Robert was a first team all-state, baseball and basketball player who went on to coach for several years. His hobbies and interests also included golfing, fishing, and most importantly spending time with his family and friends.

Services will be held at 2 pm Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Remmert Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:30 until service time. Interment will be in Roberts Cemetery in Morton, IL. Following the services, a celebration of his life will be held at 5 pm at TNT’s in Peoria Heights for family and friends. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
