Roger Keith Minson was born on November 6, 1962, in Peoria. He was the “baby” of the family, the 6th born son of Clyde Minson and Pauline (Norvel) Minson.
Roger lived his entire life in East Peoria, IL, where he attended public schools. Roger was one heck of a baseball player, with a promising future until an injury sidelined him. But his love for the game continued as he rooted for his St. Louis Cardinals alongside his dad. Roger loved to fish anywhere, anytime, but especially at Banner Marsh, proudly showing off his latest catch on Facebook. He inherited his dad’s green thumb for gardening, producing an excellent crop each year with his dad, and continued long after he was gone from this earth.
Roger is survived by his long-time partner, Dorothy Thompson of East Peoria, his brothers, Elmer and Stanley of East Peoria, and Doug of Washington, and many nephews and nieces who he was lovingly known as “Uncle Rog.” Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Pauline Minson, and his brothers Robert and Steve.
Cremation rites were accorded, and Roger has been laid to rest with his parents in Fondulac Cemetery, exactly where he would want to be.
