

Born Oct. 17, 1918 in Peoria to Isaac and Berneice (Levine) Percefull. He married Elma Edwards and had two daughters. He later married Doretta Weiss on June 19, 1955 in East Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Barbara (Jerry) Newsam, Cheryl (Curt) Welty, Linda Bahnson, Barbara Rosen and Tom Bruce; one son, Aaron Percefull and Ron Chraft; 8 grandchildren, Julia Parrish, Amy Kirby, Steve Newsam, Kathryn Lambie, Tony Thompson, Carrie Carey, Teri Rosen, Kim Rosen; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Marcella (Harry) Ashmore; one brother, Howard Percefull; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Anna Louise and Mildred Ruth Percefull; his brother, Richard; and one nephew, Scott Percefull.
Rowland served in the Navy during WWII and played the trumpet in the Navy band. Afterwards he followed in his father’s footsteps and worked for the Peoria Transit System. Later he worked for John Hancock Insurance until retirement. He was a member of the East Peoria First United Methodist Church for over 50 years.
A quiet man he seemed to enjoy family gatherings and the company of dear friends. A sportsman he enjoyed as a young man hunting and bowling. Later he spent his time golfing and fishing in upper Minnesota. Every summer for many years he enjoyed the companionship of those resort friends.

Funeral Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2012 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria with Rev. Mary Arnold officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services at the funeral home on Monday. Burial will be at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
Memorials may be made to the East Peoria First United Methodist Church.
