Russell was born on July 18, 1953 in Peoria, Illinois to Virgil and Dorothy (Barnes) Roy. He married Victoria Hornsby on February 6, 1998.
Russell is survived by his wife, Vicki, of East Peoria, IL; his mother, Dorothy, of Morton, IL; two sons, Joseph Hornsby of East Peoria, IL and Rusty (Gena) Hornsby of Peoria, IL; two grandchildren, Damien and Dejah Hornsby; and two brothers. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother.
Russell was a truck driver for N.E. Finch for several years and he loved drinking coffee.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2013 from 6pm to 8pm at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
