She was born on March 26, 1932 in Ford County, IL to Otto and Louisa (Scott) Kietzmann. She married Roy L. Dippel on December 23, 1949. He preceded her in death on February 28, 2006. Also preceding her in death were her parents, and a great-grandson, Braxton Walters.
Surviving are her three children, Steven Dippel of Dunlap, Connie (Michael) Walters of Bloomington, and Sharon Bryant of East Peoria Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Kimberly, Nicholas, Jessica, Amanda, Cody, Christopher, Shannon, Patrick and Hannah; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Shirley Rutledge; and her beloved dog Snickers.
Ruth worked on the Production Line at Caterpillar Inc. for 25 years before retiring and was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in East Peoria. After her retirement, her and her husband spent half the year in Arizona for several years. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, camping, and watching the Cubs and Riverman play.
A funeral service will be at 11 am on Monday, November 7, 2022 with visitation one hour prior to the service at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in East Peoria. Burial will follow the service at Fondulac Cemetery. Remmert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
