Sandra Joan Launer

Sandra was born Aug. 30, 1936 in Rushville, IL, the daughter of Lester and Gladys Sellers Pryor. She married Virgil Launer on Feb. 19, 1955. He preceded her in death on March 1, 1992. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and three brothers.

She is survived by her children, Michael (Bonita) Launer of Carrolton, TX, Sissy Launer (Deb Sloat) of Decatur, Linda Launer of Peoria, Kevin (Sally) Launer of Gilbert, AZ, and Carol (Gary) Street of Groveland; eight grandchildren: Jordan, Lindsay, David, and Andre Street, Eric and Ryan Launer, and Michael and Alicia Young; one brother, Bill Pryor of Greeley, CO; and one sister, Betty Pryor of Chula Vista, CA.

Sandra was a long time member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in Washington, as well as a Sunday school teacher. She also worked as a volunteer at the church’s child care center. In her final years, Sandra was tended to by the wonderful staff at Rosewood Care Center in East Peoria.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on March 22, 2014 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria, with a visitation starting at 4:30 p.m.
