Sylvia L. Irvin Smith

Sylvia was born May 9, 1927 in Dale, IL to Collis and Lillie (Tucker) Irvin. She married Harry Smith in Peoria on Dec. 24, 1954. He preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 1987. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 4 brothers and 1 sister.

She is survived by 3 children, Connie (Gary) Nabors of East Peoria, Randy (Marie Jibben) Smith of Creve Coeur, Frederick Smith of East Peoria; step-son, David (Terry) Smith of Casa Grande, AZ; 5 grandchildren, Veronica Jo Smith of Peoria, Caylee Nabors of East Peoria, Mark Nabors of East Peoria, Michelle Smith of AZ, Scott Smith of AZ; brother, Robert Irvin of Sunnyland, and sister, Joanne Lawler of Peoria.

Sylvia was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, shopping and spending time with her family and friends. She formerly attended Roland Manor Baptist Church in Sunnyland and had been attending the First Mennonite Church of Morton for the last 8 years.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria with Rev. Steve Hardin officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home and also one hour before services on Friday. Interment will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
