Theodora A. Bevard

Born Feb. 19, 1925 in Peoria to Theodore and Lorena (Rowe) Oetzel. She married Clyde W. Bevard in Peoria on Jan. 20, 1945. He preceded her in death on Dec. 8, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jack; and one grandson, Rodney.

Surviving are three children, Jim (and Janice) of East Peoria, Sharon (and Rodney) Obourn of Peoria, Nancy (and Tom) Smith of Dekalb; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and one sister, June Armour of Peoria.

Theodora worked at OSF St. Francis Hospital before retiring. She was a member of the Creve Coeur Christian Church where she and her husband managed the Food Bank for several years. She and her husband also enjoyed square dancing, and she liked doing ceramics.

Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria with Rev. John Plunkett officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Baughman Cemetery in Smithfield, IL.
