
He was born on September 29, 1939 in Johnson County, IL to the late George Orval and Goldie Marie (Johnson) Bullock. He married Barbara Brashear on September 22, 1962. They spent many loving years together, marked by his humorous, loving "Yeeessss, Barb", until her passing on August 1, 2018.
He worked for Caterpillar for over 35 years as a welder. He was also a part of the Hazmat Team at Caterpillar. He attended Summit Point Church in East Peoria, IL.
Walter was a member of the Hotwheels Club and a car show enthusiast where he would bring his 1965 poppy red convertible Mustang. His family said if you ever needed to find him, he would be in the garage, where he would restore cars. He was an avid train enthusiast and had a "man cave" where he would enjoy his large train set and his many collections, such as stamps, coins, etc.
He was also a champion square dancer with the Morton Main Streamers. Walter also loved gardening and spent a lot of time tending to his yard. He was also a frequent blood donor. His friends and family knew him as a firm foundation for many.
Walter is survived by his daughter, Diana (Ken) Kozlowski; his grandchildren, Matthew Haney, Jeremiah Duden, Jessica (Rodolfo) Flores, and Heather (Jerry) Tuffentsamer; his great grandchildren, Kasa (Tommy) Cooper, Gabriel Haney, Sarah Haney, Joshua (Brigit) Flores, and Jaden Flores; his great great grandchildren, Hope Haney, Marcie Haney, Ava Seipolt, and Evelyn Flores; his siblings, Betty Baker, Lanora Dewalt, and Larry Bullock; and many extended family members.
He is preceded by his parents; his step-mother, Mildred (Turner) Bullock; his daughter, Debbie (Gary) Haney-Kath; and his brothers, Wayne Bullock and Cole Jungers.
Services are pending. Pastor John Reed from Hazelgreen Baptist Church in Alsip, IL will officiate. Committal will take place at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria, IL.
Memorial contributions can be given to HOOAH (Healing Outside Of A Hospital) - Deer Hunt for Heroes, an organization that helps injured military members.
