He was born June 26, 1947 in Peoria to George and Bernice (Behnke) Flinn. He married Kay Campbell and she passed away June 25, 2018 in Peoria. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one son, Timothy Flinn, and one sister Marilyn McNeil.
Survivors include two grandsons: Steven Flinn of East Peoria, Cody Hamilton of Bartonville, one great-grandson, Brayden Flinn of East Peoria, two sisters: Collene Boys of East Peoria, Mary McElhaney of Peoria Heights, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Fred worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for almost 40 years retiring in 1999. He was an active member of Local 974 through Caterpillar. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A private burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery. A celebration of Fred’s life will be at a later date.
