

Gail was born in Moosic, Pennsylvania to parents Alvin and Ona Belle (Ruger) Tilley. They moved to Georgia in 1940. Gail graduated from Sylvan Hills High School in 1952. She worked for Southern Bell Telephone for 35 years and retired; then she worked at Fort McPherson, Georgia, as a long- distance telephone operator for another 15 years. She was very active in the USO during the 1950's and '60's. She was also active at the Capital View Christian Church and the Riverdale Christian Church.
Gail battled Chronic Myeloid Leukemia for several years and was in remission for three years before it returned and finally took her life. She died peacefully in her sleep at age 76.
Gail is preceded in death by her parents and brothers Foster and Ronald. She is survived by her brother Wendell Tilley and his wife Loretta; her sister-in-law Mary Tilley and her nephews Dan, Gary, Ron, John, Charles and Craig Tilley; one niece, Patricia and numerous great nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed and remembered by many always.
