James Earl Short, age 92, of East Point, passed away April 27, 2011. Mr. Short was a active member of Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church, a member of Masonic Lodge #454, and an avid golfer. Surviving are daughters, Patsy (Rodney) Smith, Fayetteville, Betty Jean "Deanie" (Jim) Wallis, Alphretta, grandchildren, Matthew Smith, Savannah, Carrie Ogletree, Thomaston, brother, Harold Short, sister, Betty Jo Cochran. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 1, 2011 at 2:00pm at Carmichael-Hemperley 2968 East Point St., East Point, GA 30344. Interment College Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4-6pm at the funeral home Arrangements under the direction of Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, East Point, East Point, GA.
