Sarah Woods Davis

.Sarah Woods Davis of Belmont Village in Suwanee, formerly of East Point, age 98 passed away May 17, 2011. Widow of T.E. (Slim) Davis she was born in Comer, GA near Athens in 1913. Sarah is predeceased by her parents William H. and Belle Woods and brothers William S. Woods and Jesse Woods. She is the former owner of Trail R Inn Mobile HomePark in Atlanta which she ran for over 40 years until age 91. Sarah drove until she was 91 and lived an active life traveling all over the world.

A resident of the East Point she was a member of Jefferson Ave. Baptist Church where she was active in her Sunday School class, sang in the Not Too choir and played in the Senior Handbell Choir and headed up the Christmas decorating committee for years. A graduate of Russell High School she was employed by Cluett Peabody for many years before raising her family. Active in the East Point Women’s Club, the East Point Garden Club and the GA Mobile Home Association for years, she was honored by the organizations for her support and dedication. For over 25 years, Sarah was a Pink Lady volunteer at South Fulton Medical Center in East Point.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Ted W. and Sherry Davis, of Cumming, GA and was a devoted grandmother to grandson Kevin Davis of Atlanta, GA and granddaughter Julie Davis Dunn and husband Mike Dunn of Suwanee, GA, and two beloved great grandsons, Davis Dunn and Denver Dunn. She is also survived by nephew Billy Woods and wife Jill of Bentonville, Arkansas and nephew-in-law Richard Martin (and predeceased wife Linda) and two great nieces, Lisa and Gina Martin of Riverside, California and many nieces and nephews in the Atlanta area.

Visitation and funeral will be Thursday 19, 2011 at Jefferson Ave. Baptist Church in East Point, GA. with visitation from 12noon to 2pm with funeral services at 2pm with burial at College Park Cemetery.
