Paul Allen Phillips, Jr., 45, of Chattanooga passed away suddenly Saturday, May 11, 2013. He was known by his many friends as the “Gentle Giant”. Allen had a generous and loving heart If you had a need he would be there for you. He was preceded in death by his father Paul A. Phillips, Sr.; grandparents Bertha and James Cleaton, and Stella and Mack Phillips. Allen worked at Mohawk Industries in Dalton and at Jackson Furniture Company as the financial analyst. He was working with Nation’s Taxi at the time of his death.
Survivors include a daughter Devon Cockburn, mother and step father Elizabeth and Dwight Wilhoit; grandson Aiden Cockburn; sisters Teresa (Michael) Davis and Laura (Robert) Parker; aunt and uncle Sharon and Emad Ibrahim; nephews T.J. Moore, Aaron Moore, Joshua Stonebraker and Jacob Stonebraker and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 15, 2013 in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral Home Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8.
