Alvin was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area and an active member of South Seminole Baptist Church. Alvin was a loving father and grandfather, and he will be missed by all who knew him. He also was a U. S. Army veteran, a 50 year Mason of Brainerd Lodge 736 and retired as a plumber from Plumbers & Steamfitters Local Number 43.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Mike and Michelle McDougal; son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Krystal Johnson; and two granddaughters, Haley McDougal and Heather Johnson.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, April 11, and 12 – 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, at the funeral home with Rev. Ron Perry officiating.
Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens South with military honors by the Tennessee Army National Guard Military Funeral Program.
Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 404 South Moore Road.
