

Amy was born on July 19, 1975 and was a graduate of Ooltewah High School, and earned a degree in Speech Pathology from the University of Mississippi, and a Masters degree from Tennessee State University. She was employed by Hamilton County Department of Education.
Amy never met a stranger. She was a social butterfly, loved music festivals, concerts, and local live music and was her happiest on the dance floor.
After her initial diagnosis of breast cancer at the age of 26, she became an active breast cancer advocate especially for young women. She walked every year with her “TEAM CODE PINK” in the Chattanooga Komen Race. Her team raised over $80,000 over these last 12 years for Komen. She served on the Komen Race Committee, served as a co-survivor chair. She has been asked many times to speak at different venues on behalf of Breast Cancer for young women.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, W.I. (Bill) Price of Chattanooga, paternal grandparents, Julius & Mary Ann Piazza of Vicksburg, Ms.
She is survived by her mother, Charlotte Lowe, stepfather, James Lowe, father Julius Piazza, stepmom Willie Piazza, her Granny, Louise Price all of Chattanooga. Brother Brian Piazza (Lindsay), Fairview, TN., sister Ann Marie McBryar (Jamie), Rising Fawn, GA., Brother Ben Baker, Memphis, TN., Brother James Lowe III (Jill), Norcross, GA., Sister Jennifer Schraw (Derek), Brentwood, TN., Sister Kellye Friar (Mike) Cleveland, TN., and many aunts, uncles, cousins and 11 nieces and nephews that she cherished dearly.
The family would like to thank Dr. Larry Schlabach and his staff at University Oncology for the exceptional care and love for Amy during these last 7 years of her fight to win this battle.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen Foundation.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 AM Wednesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Mike Creson officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Tuesday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road with a prayer service at 8 PM.
