Ashley Cisto

On June 27, 2026 the world lost an incredibly rare and talented soul, Daughter, Mother, Wife, Aunt, Sister, teacher and friend who touched countless lives not only through her passion for music but also in the sharing of her gifts with her students.

Born August 11, 1982 in Brevard, NC Ashley grew up having her talents and goals supported by her loving family and community. She earned her Bachelor’s and Masters in Music Education from UTC.

For almost 20 years she served as the Choir and Drama Department Director/ Instructor at Hixson High School, extending her talents and impact to others far beyond just the classroom by fostering a lifelong appreciation for the arts in her students and colleagues.

Ashley is survived by her husband Skip Cisto, her loving parents, John and Kathie Nolan of Dunlap, TN; her brothers, Keith Nolan, Brett Nolan (wife Stacey Nolan and their daughter Kaia Nolan (15) of Apison, TN). Her three children, Aedyn Giovanni Cisto (21), Joseph (Joey) Kennon Cisto (19), and Annabella Rose Cisto (15). Also by her Aunt, Kristina Clark and her Uncles, Thomas Nolan, Thom Mote, and Kurtis Sharbaugh.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Dr. Paul and Anne Nolan of Signal Mountain, TN and Pat and Jo Sharbaugh of Largo, FL.

Celebration of Life and memorial service details to be announced by her family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Hixson High School Music and Arts Department.
