

Audrey Hazel Crockett Naylor departed this world on September 4, 2025 surrounded by her family in her own home as she wanted to be. Audrey was a warrior who battled cancer valiantly and exceeded her expected life span. She remained fiercely independent and lived her life on her own terms until the end with all of the passion and courage that was her hallmark. She is survived by her children Dr. Yvette Naylor (Michael McBrien), Warwick (Honorable Amy) Naylor, her beloved grandchildren Natalie Hayes Naylor and JohnHayes Alfred Naylor, special friends and caretakers Kathy Fisher, Betty Faires and Terri Ryans, and her beloved cousin Gwyneth French and her family, and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred Raymond Naylor, her parents, Arthur and Florence Crockett, and her dear friend Diane Robinette. The family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors and staff at Tennessee Oncology at Memorial Hospital for their care of her during her illness.
She was an avid Auburn Tiger fan and enjoyed attending football games to the end. She was a longtime supporter and member of the American Show Horse Association and devoted many years to charities by hosting horse shows for the Lutheran School (Belvoir Christian Academy) and Chattanooga Charities. She shared her love of horses with her longtime friends Margaret Johnson, David Peel and Robert Debord and attended many related events over many years with this group. She loved to travel and enjoyed many trips to her home in England and other European countries as well as the Caribbean and Gulf Coast.
During her career she worked as an Administrative Assistant with Massachusetts Mutual Insurance where she retired and then started another career as Daycare Director at the Lutheran School where she also retired.
She remained a proud British citizen but also loved her home of the United States. She believed in freedom of speech and thought and followed politics and world affairs ever concerned about protecting freedom and independence. She was known for the strength of her opinions, convictions, drive and determination by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
Friends will be received September 28th at 1:00pm at Chattanooga East Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road, East Ridge, Tennessee, services to follow in the chapel at 2:00pm and internment will follow at the Chattanooga National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
