Barbara Burnette

Barbara Massey Burnette, age 78, of East Ridge, passed away on January 8, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles W. Massey and Juanita Bolt Massey; step-father George R. Adams, step-brother Harold G. Adams, and step-sister Barbara (David) Graves.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, N. Dean Burnette; daughter Amy S. Burnette of Woodstock, Georgia; son Robert D. (Rebecca) Burnette and grandson Jackson Burnette all of Chattanooga, sister Phyllis Gamel, Prairie Village, Kansas; several nieces and nephews.

The family sends a loving thank you to Angie Guffey for her special care of our beloved wife and mother. Angie's exceptional care allowed our family to enjoy Barbara's final months and days. Thank you to Hospice of Chattanooga, especially her nurse Kim Sweeton for all of their comfort and support during the last few months.

To our wife and mother, we will always remember your wit and kindness and carry your memory in our hearts.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 3:30 PM Saturday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road. There will be no memorial service. Barbara will be interred in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
