Betty June Tipton, 88, of Lookout Valley passed away Friday, December 30, 2022. She was a native of Scottsboro, Alabama. She was a member of Wauhatchie United Methodist Church, the Wesley Sunday School Class and had been active in the Red Hatters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul Tipton; a daughter, Lynn Humble; and her parents Vernon J. and Faye Clemons Barclay.
Survivors include her daughter, Paula Rich; three grandchildren, Jonathan (Humble) Ryan, Ashley Jones and Haley Rich; three great-grandchildren, Dyllan Ryan, Wyatt Ryan and Evie Jones.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 – 11:30 AM and from 12:30 – 1:30 PM Wednesday at Wauhatchie United Methodist Church 3401 Cummings Highway, Chattanooga, TN. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Tommy Messer officiating. The service will be live streamed on the church website, www.wauhatchieumc.org. Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, West.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wauhatchie United Methodist Church 3401 Cummings Highway, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37419.
