Billie Phifer Welch

Billie Phifer Welch, 83, went home to be with the Lord on July 9, 2018. She was a devout Christian and faithfully attended South Seminole Baptist for 61 years. Billie graduated from Central High School. She loved flowers and working in the garden.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Welch, parents, Elmer and Eola Green, sister, Beverly Hedgepath, and a brother, Tom Phifer.

Left behind to cherish Billie’s memory are her children, Cindy (David) Williamson, Hampton, GA., Lisa (Jerry) Dotson, Ooltewah, TN., and Amy Hayes, Murfreesboro, TN., grandchildren, Joshua (Chelsea) Harrison, Melinda (Lee) Whitfield, Tyler Morgan, Heath and Garrett Holden, and Addison Hayes, 7 great-grandchildren, and a host of dear family and friends.

A Celebration of Billie’s Life will be held in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Saturday July 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends from 4 pm to 8pm on Friday July 13, 2018 at the funeral home. Billie will be laid to rest with her husband in the Lakewood Memory Gardens South.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to her caregivers at Hospice of Chattanooga. Also in lieu of flowers the family would like memorial contributions in her memory to be made to Hospice of Chattanooga.
