Boyd Lee Goodner, 89, of Chattanooga passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at his home. He was a member of Morris Hill Baptist Church and had served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher for many years at Avondale and Spring Creek Road Baptist Churches. Mr. Goodner was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Korea. He was the owner of Goodner and Company, Inc. and did select plastering and specialized ornamental plaster work at several notable places around Chattanooga including the Tivoli Theatre, the Chattanooga Choo Choo, the Courthouse, the Reid House and the Mayor’s home. He was past President of the Local 157 OPCMIA and Chattanooga Contractors Association and a member of Associated General Contractors. He was also a member of East Lake Lodge # 698 F&AM.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dolores Parker Goodner; daughter, Teena Lillard; parents, Alden and Mildred Stewart Goodner; two brothers, James and Bill Goodner; one sister, Jean Baker; grandson, Dustin Coplon.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Goodner; children, Debby (Marc) Coplon, Barry (Christy) Goodner, Kent (Ceci) Goodner, Shannon Nicole (Jason) Reed and Julianna Gore; eight grandchildren, Mike, Matt, Kristen, Devin, Parker, Kile, Nick and Layla; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2 PM Tuesday at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East with the Rev. Bill Mason officiating. Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road, East Ridge, TN.
