C. Vernon Duckett

C. Vernon Duckett, 89, a lifelong resident of Chattanooga went home to be with the Lord on Friday morning, November 14, 2014. He was the son of Charles and Kitty Duckett. He was an active member of Ridgedale Baptist Church and served as a President of the Friendship Sunday School Class. He retired from the oil industry. Vernon served in the United States Air Force, and was a member of the half century club. He was an avid golfer, he made two holes in one until his latter years, he shot under his age in golf.

Preceded in death by wife of 62 years, Helen Duckett.

He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Yvonne Duckett of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, Sarah Sykes (Will) Atlanta, GA and Carl Duckett, Lenior City, Tennessee, Sean and Eric Kilgo (Caron) of Atlanta, Georgia; One Great Granddaughter Skylar Gordon, Winder, GA. Special Friend, Freda Seaton.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 17, 2014 at 2:30 PM in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Owens, Rev. Ted Painter officiating. Private burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the East Chapel on Sunday from 2 PM to 6 PM.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Friendship Sunday School Class at Ridgedale Baptist Church, 1831 Hickory Valley Road, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37421.
