Mr. Millican was born in Kensington, GA and was raised in Chickamauga, GA where he was a graduate of Gordan Lee High School. He retired from Provident Insurance after 21 years as Chief of Security then most recently was employed by the City of Chattanooga where he worked in the grounds department at Brainerd Golf Course. He was of the Methodist faith, a member of the American Legion Post #214 and a US Air Force Veteran where he played baseball while stationed in Marietta, GA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Lillie Mae Kiser Millican.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Brenda Prestwood Millican; daughters, Sherry (Tommy) Jordan and Lori (Dale) Elder; granddaughter, Jennifer (Nick) Kilpatrick; sister, Annie Laura (Steve) Wyatt; brother, James R. (Opal) Millican; aunts, Nettie Hobbs, Ruth Jones and Ethel Merritt; and nephew, Jamey Millican.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the funeral home.
Graveside Services will be at 11 AM on Monday at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Rev. Richard Foster officiating.
