Carole S. Underwood, 79, of Chattanooga passed away on June 10, 2021.

Carole was a devoted Christian, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Born in Chattanooga in 1941 to the late, Charles R. Seay Sr., and Bernice “Tootsie” Wilson. After her father was killed tragically in WWII, she was raised by her step-father, Wesley “Dub” Wilson, who she would refer to as her dad. Carole was a Sunday school teacher for many area Churches of God over the years, but her fondest time spent was as a secretary for Coast Episcopal School where she loving took many of the children as her own and they often referred to her as “Grandma”. She was an avid reader and loved flowers. Carole was a member of Redemption Point Church.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Beth Lynn Underwood, her aforementioned parents and step-father as well as her brother, Charles R. “Chuck” Seay, Jr.

Left behind to cherish Carole’s memory are her daughters, Kimberly Morgan, Kellie (Rick) Sonner, “Special Daughter”, Danielle (James) Brown, sister, Peggy (Nick) Primavera, and brother, Michael (Lee Ann) Wilson, grandchildren, Alicia (Andrew) Nerren, Madeleine Morgan, Cheyenne Whitley, Dallas Whitley, and Hailey Morgan, great-grandchildren, Drake, Gage, Connor and Kyler Nerren, and Annabelle and Grayson Brown, nieces, Nicole (Mark) Ford, Ashley Long, nephews, Adam (Sarah) Wilson, and Jason Seay, and many dear friends.

A Celebration of Carole’s Life will be held in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Tuesday June 15, 2021 at 11:00 am with Chaplain Dwight Wilson and Bro. Paul Ellis officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening June 14, 2021 from 5 to 8 pm. Carole will be laid to rest in the Lakewood South Memory Gardens. Serving as Pallbearers will be Dallas Whitley, James Brown, Andrew Nerren, Adam Wilson, Mark Ford and Kevin Grabau

Arrangements are under the care of Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory and Florist East Chapel, 404 South Moore Rd. East Ridge, TN 37412.

So sorry to hear of Carole’s passing. I believe she had the most sweetest disposition of anyone I knew. She had a radiant smile to anyone who knew Carole. My mom and aunt thought the world of Carole when she attended Spring Creek Church of God. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. Carole is in a much better place now.
