Chuck served his country honorably in the Marine Corps and the United States Army. He served in Korea, Vietnam, and Dessert storm. He was a Purple Heart recipient. He was a life time member of the Chattanooga gun club and is a national champion for rifle shooting. Chuck enjoyed gun smithing, auto mechanics, and Penn State football. He was retired from the FAA as an air traffic controller at Lovell field.
He is preceded in death by his parents Helen Milbee Polk and Guy Polk; and brother Richard Polk of Elizabethtown, PA.
He is survived by his wife, Beth Papson; his children, Chas (Carla) Polk Jr., Stacy (Danny) Coleman, Stephanie (Randy) Morris, Karen (Jason) Privett, and Cynthia (Bryan) Fallowfield; nephews, Chris Polk and Rich Polk; and 12 bratty grandchildren that loved to raid his candy bowl.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
Graveside Services will be at 11:30 AM on Monday, January 4, 2016 at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the East Ridge Animal Shelter.
