Charles Fenwick Taggart

Charles F. Taggart, 87, of East Ridge, TN passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at his home. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. He attended Mitchell College in New London, CT and the University of Vermont and was retired from Sears after 25 years of service. Mr. Taggart was a Veteran of the US Army serving in Korea as a Sergeant First Class. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #91 and received a special citation in December of 2016 for appreciation for 39 years of dedicated service to the Elks Lodge. He had served as Exalted Ruler, Lodge Secretary, District Deputy, and State President in addition to serving on many state commissions and committees.

Survivors include his wife, Priscilla Taggart; two sons, Jeff Taggart and Pete Taggart; grandchildren, Betsy Taggart, Joseph Waters, Jennifer (Chris) Kriener, Kayla Taggart, Katherine Taggart and Caroline Taggart; one great-granddaughter, Kendal Garner.

A funeral mass will be held at 2 PM on Friday, February 3, 2017 at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road with Father Jim Vick officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
