

Charlotte Scruggs Lee, 78, of East Ridge, passed away January 6, 2011, after a two month battle with bone cancer.
Mrs. Lee was born in Madisonville, TN on October 31, 1932 to Amos and Abbie Scruggs. She was the long-time devoted wife and mother to her husband and two sons. She was a member of Jones Memorial United Methodist Church and Pioneer Sunday School Class for 49 years, a 55 year member of East Lake #238 O.E.S., a past Matron three times, secretary, treasurer and other stations. She served as Grand Chaplain of Grand Chapter O.E.S. of Tennessee in 1964, Grand Representative to the State of Vermont from 2002 to 2004, served on committees for Grand Chapter of TN. She was loved and respected by all who came in contact with her. She was also past president of Grand Representatives, and Past Matrons and Patron’s Associations.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Randy Lee; sons, David A. Lee and Dalen R. Lee; daughters-in-law, Beverly Ann and Mary; grandchildren, Arabi and Aubrey; sister, Dorothy Denton; brother-in-law, Bob Denton of Charlotte, NC; brother, Tommy Scruggs of Madisonville, TN; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Abbie Scrubbs and brothers, Earl and Charlton.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 4 PM and 6 to 9 PM on Sunday, January 9th at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be at 1 PM on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Jones Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Dial officiating and the Eastern Star Memorial Service by Susan Felker PGM and East Lake members during the funeral service. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the funeral service at the church. Following the service the body will be entombed at Lakewood Memory Gardens South, Greenslake Road.
The following are requested as pallbearers by Charlotte: Ray Barrows, Bill Justin, Gene Robbins, Chuck Broyles, Carl Ash, and Ed Kemper.
Honorary Pallbearers will be all OES members and Pioneer Sunday School Class of Jones Memorial Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pioneer Sunday School Class at Jones Memorial UMC, 4131 Ringgold Road, East Ridge, TN 37412.
