Christine "Chris" Landress

Evelyn Christine “Chris” Landress, age 85, of Chattanooga went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, January 7, 2014. The daughter of the late Thomas and Carrie Oliver. She was a longtime member of Ridgedale Baptist Church and the Genesis Sunday School Class.

Survived by loving husband, Ben S. Landress of Chattanooga; son, Jimmy Rhea (Elaine) Cross of Ringgold, Georgia; grandchildren, Dee Dee Cross Richardson, Lori Bowers and her husband, Dr. Patrick Bowers; six great grandchildren, Gabriel Benjamin Richardson, Ellie Bowers, Patrick Bowers III (Joey) , Frannie Bowers, Penny Bowers and Lovie Bowers; three sisters, Joyce Gillard of Ringgold, Georgia, Joan Shaw of Chickamauga, Georgia, Dorothy Mullis of Rossville, Georgia; one brother, Charles Oliver of Ringgold, Georgia; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews including her favorite Tonya and Monica Crabtree.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Hospice of Chattanooga for their caring service.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 1 PM at Ridegdale Baptist Church with Dr. Bill Owens and Dr. Doug Plumlee officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Genesis Sunday School Class. Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 from 4 PM to 7 PM at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home and on Thursday, January 9,2014 from 12 Noon until 1 PM at Ridgedale Baptist Church.
