Christopher James Bain

April 17, 1978– August 9, 2026

It is with heavy hearts, more than a few tears, and countless memories that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, Chris Bain, who passed away on August 9, 2026, at the age of 48.

Chris was born on April 17, 1978, in Daytona Beach, Florida, to Jim and Marsha Bain. From the very beginning, he had a personality that was impossible to ignore. He was always in the hustle, socializing, telling stories, and having a good time with anyone he met. He had a way of turning a quick conversation with a stranger into what felt like a lifelong friendship.

Chris grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee, attended OLPH for elementary school, and graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1996. He later went on to work for UPS as a Supervisor for years before moving to Tullahoma, where he spent a few years running his title loan business. Eventually, he moved back to Chattanooga, where he dove headfirst into the world of cryptocurrency.

He was especially passionate about two things—and two things only: crypto investments and Sir Dexter Bain, Esquire. If you knew Chris, you probably knew all about TRUSTING The Process and his little puppy, Dexter—whether you wanted to or not.

Chris was the kind of person who would help a friend before they ever had the chance to ask. He made people laugh, never met a stranger, was stubborn as a mule, and rarely took no for an answer. He had a hustle that was all his own and an odd sense of humor that could catch you completely off guard. He had a way of making an impression on people—sometimes whether they asked for one or not.

More than anything, Chris will be remembered for his love of mingling, chatting, and hanging out with complete strangers—because, in Chris’s world, no one stayed a stranger for very long. He could strike up a conversation with just about anybody, and somehow, before long, you’d know his opinion, his latest story, and probably something about crypto.

While his family and friends will deeply miss having him here, we can be grateful for the memories, the stories, the laughs, the arguments, the adventures, and all of the countless moments that made Chris who he was.

Chris, you were loved far more than you probably ever realized by everyone around you. We will miss your laugh, your stubbornness, your stories, your hustle, and your ability to make a friend almost anywhere you went.

But now you get to spend eternity with the one person everyone misses and loves just as much—your father, Big Jim. I’m sure he’s already waiting on you, probably wondering what took you so long. "Rest easy, Chris. Lova ya, Tortoise! We’ll take it from here."

Christopher was preceded in death by his father, Big Jim Bain, and his grandparents. He is survived by his mother, Marsha Bain; his brother, Jimmy Bain(Shasta Bain) his two nephews, Deagan and Declan Bain , Chandler Overby and His beloved Aunt Pat and of course his little buddy, Dexter, as well as countless friends, extended family members, and people whose lives he touched along the way.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory & Florist East Chapel, 404 South Moore Rd., Chattanooga, TN 37412. A graveside service will be Friday, August 14,2026 at 11:00 a.m., in Mount Olivet Cemetery, 1 Mount Olivet Dr., East Ridge, TN 37412.
