David was the son of the late George and Billie Sliger.
He was a member and Deacon of Ridgedale Baptist Church and the Student Disciples Sunday School Class. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in the Philippines. David retired from Farm Bureau Insurance Company as a Senior Claims Representative after 35 years of service.
Left behind to cherish David’s memory is his wife of 38 years, Sally York Sliger; daughter, Suzannah Sliger (Dave) Bunt; son, Joseph Curtis Sliger; grandson, Ranger Levi Bunt; brother, Fred (Lou Ann) Sliger; nephew and niece, John (Kaity) Sliger and Rachel Sliger; dear cousin, Myra (Bart) Brannon.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, June 28 at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road with Dr. Doug Plumlee officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ridgedale Baptist Church or to the American Cancer Society.
