Debra Watts Green

Debra Watts Green, 71, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on September 19, 2026. Born in Chattanooga on May 2, 1955, Debra moved through life with an open door and an open heart, meeting the world with warmth, easy conversation, and a gift for making others feel instantly welcome.

Over the years, Debra worked for numerous places and held many different positions, from Paradise Records and Tapes to McDonalds. Wherever she was, she brought energy and connection, an outgoing spirit that could brighten a room and a kindness that made people feel seen. Her life reflected a love of experience and discovery, and she carried herself with the independence of someone determined to live on her own terms.

Debra was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Evelyn Jones, her brother, Charles Battle, her sister and brother-in-law, Tangelia (Jones) Woodruff and Lorenzo Woodruff, Sr., and her ex-husband, John Watts, Sr.

Left behind to cherish her adventurous spirit are her daughter and son-in-law, Cherena (Watts) Dutt and Dean Dutt; her son and daughter-in-law, Rasheed Abdullatif and Nurizza Abdullatif; her brother, Ricky Jones Sr., and his children; grandchildren, Miguel (Dazie) Watts; Rundee (Lami) Kirby; Cherity Kirby; Princess Kirby; Shaheed Abdullatif; Sadie Miller and her children; and Caleb Fountain; great-grandchildren, Tristian Kirby; Derek Stepp III; Levi Sanchez; Angel Kirby; and Moriah Kirby; several nieces and nephews; Lorenzo Woodruff, Jr.; Alyiana Woodruff; and Tanshay Woodruff.

A private memorial service will be held at a date to be announced.
