Mr. Sparks was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, was a member of Ooltewah Church of Christ and retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad as a Carman.
He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Sparks and mother, Delois Maderas.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Betty Sparks; children, Donna (Albert) Baca, Rickey (Debbie) Sparks, Larry (Loretta) Sparks and David Sparks; daughter-in-law, Jane Sparks; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:30 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be at 2:30 PM on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at the funeral home.
Burial will be private.
