Dorothy Anne Clarke

Mrs. Richard A. Clarke (Dorothy Anne Cummings) passed away on January 22, 2015 at St. Barnabas Nursing Home in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Mrs. Clarke was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Missionary Ridge Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, C.L. Cummings and Annie Ruth Bailey Cummings, her sister Mrs. Grady (Betty) Jacoway, her brother Charles “Buddy” Cummings, her sister Mary Charles Cummings, her first husband Lt. James H. Kenyon, and her late husband Richard A. Clarke.

She is survived by her daughter Anne Clarke Sanders of Brevard, North Carolina and her son Thomas R. Clarke of Portland, Tennessee, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and sisters Mrs. Peter (Charlotte) Haring of Shreveport, Louisiana and Sandra Gould of Chattanooga.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Hills Cemetery, Chattanooga, Tennessee. Pallbearers will be John Lawson Greer, IV, Thomas Rowan Clarke, III, Patrick Nelson Clarke, and Richard Edwin Clarke. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Chattanooga and Caring Senior Service for their kindness and attention. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the donor’s charity of choice.
