

She was born July 5, 1923 to the late Lillie Clemons and Wilson E. Keown and was raised in LaFayette, Georgia. She attended LaFayette High School and Middle Georgia College in Cochran, Georgia. She worked for The Farmer’s Home Administration in LaFayette for 11 years. She married Reuben Jennings in 1944 and they moved to Chattanooga in 1955. She was a member of Brainerd Baptist Church and the Amoma Sunday School Class.
Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Reuben A. Jennings, Brother and Sister-in-law Wilson Eugene Keown & Neva Keown and Brother Donald Troy Keown and a beloved Nephew Bruce Keown.
She is survived by her daughter and her husband, Kathy & John Wells of Anderson, SC, a Granddaughter and her husband, Meredith & John Basel of N.C., a grandson Ben Wells of California and two precious great-granddaughters, Reagan and Rory Basel. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Dottie Keown of Texas and nieces and nephews Brenda Gayle Smith Baker, Angela Smith Potts, Karen Keown, Susan Keown Brown, Rita Hallum, Rick Keown, Robert & RandyJennings.
Her daughter would like to thank the wonderful people at Southern Heritage Assisted Living in East Ridge for their care of her Mom. She especially enjoyed the Bible Study and learned so much from it Thanks also goes to the people of Hospice of Chattanooga and NHC Parkwood. She would especially like to thank Richard at NHC who 3 years ago made Mom laugh when there wasn't much to laugh about.

Thee family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Monday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road. Graveside services will be held at 10 AM Tuesday at Chattanooga National Cemetery with the Rev. Chris Moses officiating.
